Training and Consultation Support includes:

  • Skills and Knowledge

During the reporting Period DESPRO has been successfully implemented a consolidated demand driven capacity building plan, developed in 2008. According to this plan all project target groups such as administrations and local self-governance bodies, community leaders and activists were involved into the training programs.

  • Orgnazation and legal issues consultations

In 2009   158 public servants, NGO leaders and activists, CBOs accountants and technicians and journalists from central and local media increased their capacity trough various different DESPRO training interventions. 6 training sessions were conducted within DESPRO capacity building program for partners in the reported period.

Technical consultancies on community project implementation are a specific field of the DESPRO capacity building programme. 124 consultations to CBOs - phone, email, personal - were provided during the reporting period including 1st round – 48 consultations for communities of the 1st projects round and 76 for communities of the 2nd projects round.

DESPRO team provides on ongoing consultation to the  CBOs that submitted projects proposals on improvement of  public services. These consultations include advice on the most rational and effective ways forms and techniques of implementing planned activities in communities and are provided in various ways: during site visits including the site visit with the technical consultants, over the phone and through e-mail communications.
Besides the RWGs are also providing permanent support and consultations to the communities in identifying their priorities in solving service provision problems - poor water supply and management - as well as estimating the potential of and ways for improvement.

Within the first six months  of 2009 124 consultations of various types were provided by members of DESPRO team.

Mr. Oleksandr Ihnatenko, Director of the Department of Territories’ Landscaping and Communal Services, MINREGION of Ukraine, Mr. Leonid Tulovsky, Expert on Quality Control, UNDP Project “Municipal Governance and Sustainable Development Program” and Mr. Vyacheslav Sorokovsky, Expert on Decentralization, Swiss-Ukrainian project “Decentralization Support in Ukraine” took part in the press-conference.
12:55 | 26.04.2012 DESPRO Has Conducted Training For Accountants of Service Cooperatives Dealing with Water Supply
On 25 – 26 April Swiss-Ukrainian Project “Decentralization Support in Ukraine” (DESPRO) has conducted a training “Follow-up operation of service cooperatives: metering the water; maintaining the water supply networks; relations with regulatory bodies; questions and answers” for accountants of water supply service cooperatives.

On 24th April the workshop “Decentralization and Governance” aimed at presenting and discussing of the training modules for public servants and local self-government officials took place in Hotel Complex “Puscha Lisova” (Moschun village, Kyiv Oblast).
