Swiss-Ukrainian Project “Decentralization Support in Ukraine” Expert Body met on 26^th October 2011. Meeting’s goal was to discuss the issues concerning the development and design of web-portal for Interregional Information and Training Network “Effective State”.

On 25^th October 2011 the meeting of Local Working Group dealing the issues of planning the integrated solid waste management (ISWM) took place in Tulchyn. It was supported by Swiss-Ukrainian project “Decentralization Support in Ukraine”, DESPRO. 

18^th through 20^th October post graduate courses for the Union of young and perspective public servants of Lugansk Oblast took place in Lugansk. The event was supported by DESPRO in cooperation with the Department of State Service based on Lugansk Centre of post graduate education.

13^th through 14^th October Regional Forum on Inter-Municipal Cooperation, entitled “Practicing Local Self-Government for People”, took place in Skopje, Macedonia. It brought together representatives of international organizations, governments of Balkan and Eastern European countries. 

Positive experience of cooperation and results obtained from implementation of community projects supported by DESPRO facilitated active institutional reforms in autonomic republic, creation of new working places, infrastructure development as well as solution of social issues like support and development of entrepreneurship, housing and communal sphere, health and environment.

The visit was aimed at acquaintance with the progress of water supply community projects of Suvorivske and Kleban villages.

The event was aimed at actualization of inter-municipal cooperation in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and Ukraine as a whole.

Which are the ways of solving local challenges and attracting resources for regional development due to strengthening the population’s capacities? How to do it? Which are the expected results?   These and a number of other issues became the subject of a round table, which took place on 27^th September in Simpheropol and was initiated by Swiss-Ukrainian Project “Decentralization Support in Ukraine” (DESPRO).

During the implementation of Phase II, Swiss-Ukrainian Project “Decentralization Support in Ukraine” (DESPRO), besides water-supply, supports the local projects on Solid Household Waste Management. In this March the process of strategic planning of integrated Solid Waste Management was launched in Tulchynsky rayon, Vinnytsya Oblast.

16 through 18 September 2001 Community general meeting of Association of Regional Development Agencies of Ukraine took place in Alushta (Ukraine). Within its framework, a workshop “Decentralization as an Aspect of Regional Development in Ukraine” was conducted.
