DESPRO successfully completed the first project of 2015 in Vinnytsya oblast: Stepanky village community celebrates the new water pipeline

The village of Stepanky (Pogrebyshchy rayon, Vinnytsya oblast) is a small village of approximately 100 households; it is also one of the four villages belonging to the competency of Cheremoshne village council. It is the last of the four villages, which now has drinkable water supply.

When the oblast contest for co-funding of water supply improvement projects passed, Stepanky village community planned to construct 7 km of water pipelines. Later, the project was joined by other residents, and its scale was expanded.

Now the newly-built water pipeline, 9.15 km long, is something the whole village can be proud of, as it has covered the whole settlement, bringing water to the village school and to the medical and obstetric centre. Residents of 61 households, which have performed individual connection, now have high-quality drinkable water supply in their own houses. Contribution of every household amounted to 6 thousand UAH, net of individual connection costs.

The project’s general cost amounted to 1 million 260 thousand UAH

Village residents – 363 thousand UAH

Cheremoshne village council – 110 thousand UAH

Rayon budget – 37 thousand UAH

Oblast budget provided 50 thousand UAH

Financial contribution of DESPRO – 670 thousand UAH

Sponsor contribution of agricultural enterprise “Signe-Centre” – 25 thousand UAH

Sponsor contribution of “Vinnytsiaoblsilcommungosp” – 5 thousand UAH
