I session of Local Self-Governance School was held in Kyiv

The I session of DESPRO Local Self-Governance School was held in Kyiv between 16 and 19 of September. 16 teams of amalgamated communities from 10 regions of Ukraine and 16 “young specialists” (up to 35 y.o.) of local self-governance participated in the session.

The participants successfully finished a total of 55 study modules covering the important topics on management and governance, such as strategic planning, marketing of territories, local economic development, investments, communications, community-building, land regulations, and e-governance. 12 trainers are involved with LSG School – they are experts on economics, strategic planning, monitoring, finance, and psychology.

The key feature of LSG School is quality implementation of strategies of local development by Ukrainian amalgamated communities. The complex approach of DESPRO LSG School gives the participants the necessary tools to review, optimize and effectively implement their strategies.

The special feature of this year’s LSG School was DESPRO’s collaboration with Casers NGO – the main case community of Ukraine. As part of the Case Championship teams of amalgamated communities prepare their cases, describing problems and challenges they face as local self-governance leaders. These cases are encouraged to be solved creatively and innovatively. On the last day of the I session the teams of amalgamated communities have presented their cases which are now uploaded on the Championship web page.

DESPRO project invites young specialists, students and experts to discover and solve cases by amalgamated communities of Ukraine! All details are published on the Championship page.

The II session of DESPRO Local Self-Governance School will be held between 26th and 29th of November in Kyiv. Follow DESPRO project’s Facebook page and join DESPRO newsletter to stay informed!
